Mother’s Day 2017

It’s been another magical year of motherhood! I rounded up a few candid pics (above) from the past year! Our fur baby, Louis, has brought so much love to our family. Audrey has become an avid reader and continues to write/illustrate her own novels. Her imagination and creativity continues to amaze us! She hopes to be an author or singer one day! She’s busy with basketball, soccer, tennis, Girl Scouts, and soon piano! Jack has found his love of golf as he enters his first golf academy! His teacher’s seem to think he is extremely bright, and I’ve found I have a little heartbreaker on my hands. He is my old soul, extremely gentle and kind-hearted. Art, soccer, and music are a few of his favorite things, but mostly he still likes cuddling with mommy! I’ll take it as long as I can! Motherhood is a journey. It’s not always easy, but it’s an amazing gift. I’m so blessed to be their mama and I’m so grateful to have learned from the best! Which leads me to my own mother…

For the past two years I’ve written/drafted a post or I guess more of a tribute to my own mother.  I have a collection of stories and moments that I reflect on, this part is easy for me. It’s more the emotion behind it all that gets me. Nothing I have written thus far is good enough, sigh. I know she would love anything I say about her, and she’d tell me it’s the best thing she has ever read. That being said, my words of how truly special she is to me, and to so many people in her life seem to still not do her justice. So, until my words/tribute are perfect I’ll simply say Thank You, Mom! You have been the best example of EVERYTHING in my life. I love you to the moon and back!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing mamas! I hope that you were spoiled silly today! Know that your job as a mom is truly the most important role you will every have and that it goes way too fast!!! Cherish these moments!

We had such a lovely vacation with the kids in Kauai! I’m still sorting through all my pics so stay tuned for a Travel Diary (last one here) coming to a glaMoMorous life soon. We ate some fabulous local island cuisine that I can’t wait to share about! Today’s post is all about this lovely green dress! I just adore the colors of this airy dress with the varying hues of green! Turquoise has long been a favorite color of mine but I find myself loving these greens! Maybe it’s all those palm tree prints that are sweeping summer fashion. Anyhow this dress is such a steal at $24. It’s top rated and I love that it’s the perfect shape for all body types! I’m wearing a size small (my usually size) and it has plenty of room. I’d say if you usually wear a size medium you could probably get away with a small. Shop it here, it’s definitely one of my new favorite dresses for summer!

The tassel trend is still one of my favorites, especially in the summertime, but I’m also loving ruffles these days. How cute are the sleeves on this dress and the ruffle hemline?! The fit is lose and comfy which y’all know I love, and the stripes give a nod to nautical which I also adore. Grab this dress for  only $19 here! In other news, I turned another year older! In recent years birthday’s seem to have brought more meaning than presents and cake. I find myself reflecting on what I’ve done and what I hope to accomplish in the future. I remember my mom always telling me that her mid 30’s and 40’s were some of her favorite years. While I haven’t reached my 40’s I am really loving my mid 30’s. Getting older isn’t just about those laugh lines creeping up. With age you gain a stronger confidence in yourself. You value real relationships that only make your life better. I’ve discovered my goal in life is really to be the best version of myself. The best mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend as possible. So CHEERS to getting older!

My wardrobe during winter was grey, black, camo, and touches of blush on repeat! More recently I’m adoring all the floral prints that are making a big splash with major retailers and small boutiques. It’s such a girly trend but you can also find tropical prints such as a palm print that doesn’t feel as girly. My dress is from one of my favorite online retailers,  Jane.com and I highly recommend shopping/checking out the site. It’s a favorite of mine for finding trendy clothing, house hold items, kid gear, gifts, and more at a discount price. This blue cold shoulder floral dress was from Jane.com for only $34.99! I recently had a girls night out so I threw it on with some booties and tassel earrings to dress it up a bit! The floral trend is so easy to take from day to night making it super versatile! My dress was sold out but I linked a bunch of my favorite floral finds at the bottom of this post! I’m obsessed with the floral wrap dress linked and the Ted Baker clutch is so beautiful! Hope everyone had a lovely Easter! xx

DIY Bunny Banner

Happy Saturday! It’s all about the bunting on the blog today. I love bunting’s so much that I have a drawer full of holiday buntings and banners easily accessible in my office. The trendy look is such a great way to dress up your mantel, your entryway mirror/table, or your front door! While I love supporting and buying from my own local boutiques and/or online stores on Etsy, sometimes I like to make my own. So, today I’m showing you the easiest and cheapest DIY Easter Bunny Banner! The trick is buying a basic bunting and then dressing it up with your favorite embellishments.

Items Needed

  • Basic burlap bunny banner (mine is from Michaels but Target or other craft stores often carry holiday themed banners)
  • Pastel ribbon (I choose a mint and polka dot pink on clearance)
  • Pom pom’s in your color scheme (I had these on hand, but Amazon carries them as do most craft stores)
  • Scissors
  • Fabric glue

Step 1 Cut your fabric strips.

You can clean up the frayed edges after cutting the strips. My strips were about an inch wide and 26 inches in length, making the strands hang around 13 inches long after being tied to the banner.

Step 2 Tie your strips to the ends of the banner.

I wanted to show you how the banner looked before the pom pom’s were glued on! It’s cute as is, but you can see below by just adding the pom pom’s it makes the bunting even cuter! At this point you can trim your ribbon shorter too, but I liked them a little longer. And how adorable is my little helper! Love my little man!

Step 3 Glue your pom pom’s to each bunny tail.

I shot all my own images for this post so it was a bit hard to capture myself gluing the pompom’s on the bunny tale while simultaneously holding the camera, lol! But I think y’all understand this simple step.

Step 4 Hang your final product.

This cost me a total of $10 to make! How cute would this be to gift whoever hosts your family for Easter this year?! With all my extra ribbon and pom pom’s all I need is to buy an extra banner from Michaels! How do you decorate for Easter? Are you a banner/bunting fan?
