Green Knit Sweater

Green Knit Sweater

It’s October 24th and we are expected to hit 90 degrees in Danville today! I’m trying to stay positive but I’m really missing Fall, warm lattes, soups, brisk morning walks with Louis, and lots of cozy layers. We are hosting Thanksgiving and I’m starting to think I should tell everyone to bring their swimsuits, lol! When we shot this look, it did have all the Fall feels so it must be coming to stay soon!

Y’all know I adore boho-style and color, but lately I’ve been wearing lots of muted staples like this green knit sweater. It’s super cozy and a tad chunky without looking bulky on. You can shop this sweater on sale for $18 here! How cute would it look with a plaid shirt layered under or a plaid scarf wrapped around your neck. I’m also so excited to share I found my Sam Edelman leopard leather and fur booties for almost half the price! Wahoo! These booties have been a huge hit on my Instagram account lately! Some sizes are already gone, so hurry and grab them. Shop the rest of my look below and some of my other fall finds at various price points! The Target velvet wine colored crossbody linked looks high-end and at only $30 it’s such a steal.

H E L L O  Fall!!! Team Kimbrough is so happy you’ve arrived and we are ready to eat anything and everything pumpkin related! So Sunday night I came down with a pretty bad fever/flu bug. Ugh, probably the only down fall to this time of year is the onset of flu season. I’m trying so hard to keep it from taking down the entire family because it’s a pretty nasty bug. That being said, I’ve been forced to lay in bed (eh um..when I can, still have to Mom all day) which has given me the opportunity to look up some yummy fall recipes. I’m looking forward to warm and hearty stews, casseroles, and lots of delicious baking! But that’s another post. Today is all about this Anthro-inspired Navy Embroidered Boho dress. I could pretty much buy everything at Anthropologie; the clothing, dishes, bedding, it’s all gorgeous. So, when I find a cute outfit that reminds me of something I’d purchase from Anthro for a fraction of the price, I get pretty excited to share it with my readers. This dress is just that! The heavier fabric will keep you warm in the coming months and the navy and red combo is perfect for transitioning to Fall. Navy and denim are everywhere! The embroidery detail on this dress is amazing, as it runs all the way down the super-cute exaggerated sleeves. It’s just the perfect fall dress with booties or boots! Snag it here for $36 and let your friends think it’s from Anthro…I won’t tell!

Three Things

Three Things (previous TT post here) on the blog today include sharing about our roller coaster “firsts” and how each child had a different reaction. Also included is the cutest blue and white tie-waist top and my three favorite lunchbox Instagram accounts!

Funny Firsts

Three Things

If you’ve caught my posts about Capitola then you know our family goes every year and that also means we go to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk every year! With the kids meeting some of the height restrictions, this year was full of attraction firsts! Audrey was finally able to ride the Big Dipper and she loved it! I quickly realized we have a little thrill-seeker on our hands. Little miss would have gone on every twisting, upside-down, tummy-dropping ride at the park if she could have! Jack on the other hand was a little uncertain. Scroll below to see Audrey pictured first on the Pirate Ship and then, Jack. Two totally different reactions! I don’t think I’ll ever forget the way his squishy, little face looked! His eyes practically popped out of his head and he was holding on for dear life! Thankfully, Grandma held on tight and made him feel safe. No tears, but it’s definitely a funny first I’ll never forget!

Three Things

Audrey in the upper right corner wanted to sit in the back (with Uncle Kev) for extra fun!

Excited but unsure about what’s going to happen.

That face!!! Priceless!

Lunchbox Inspiration from some favorite Igers

Three Things

If you pack lunches for your kids then you will share in my struggle! The kids get so bored of the same thing, but these three Instagram moms know what they are doing! I love following them for menu inspiration! Check them out if you need some easy and healthy ideas to incorporate in your routine. I also recommend letting your kids look at the images with you because not only does it get them excited but it actually helps encourage new food choices! @superhealthykids @easylunchboxes @weelicious

Please tell me Fall has come for some of you? Since my last post, I’ve had a change of heart about our summer heat that doesn’t want to leave the East Bay. I’m officially ready for cooler months, homemade soups, pumpkin everything, and the changing leaves. Yesterday, I stopped at Trader Joes and was thrilled to see the gorgeous piles of gourds and pumpkins! These things make me so happy! I love seasons so come on Fall, hurry up! I also love a great checkered print which is on trend for Fall style. This white royal blue checkered print top is true to size (I’m wearing a small). The contrasting neckline pattern is so cute and I love that it hits at just the right spot above the hip making it perfect to wear with jeans or tucked in to a skirt. You know I love a good sale and this is currently on sale for $11 from $34. Yep, I said $11. Grab it here! Shop the rest of the look at the end of this post.

Fall Favorites

Fall_RoundUp_2015It’s hard to believe that we are in mid-October and Fall seems to still be in hiding. Our neigboohood streets are beginning to show a glimpse of weather change, as the autumn colored leaves dance amongst the wind. It’s so beautiful during this time of year, and I find myself constantly snapping pictures of the kids playing in the leaves. With the weather finally changing, I’m looking forward to making hearty and warm meals, baking pies and cookies, and indulging in hot cocoa with the kids. Like many, I’m also ready to switch from sundresses to cozy layers! So, today’s roundup is a little fall inspiration for y’al! Showcasing some of this season’s biggest trends at a range of prices. Plaids, flares, maxi’s, and all kinds of boots are a great way to update your wardrobe.

One – My Rebecca Minkoff fringe bag has been a popular item on my Instagram, so I was excited about this smaller version. It’s the perfect size. Bonus – It comes in many colors!

Two – A colored floppy is so chic with a touch of boho. Try this navy option from one of my favorites.

Three –  I’m loving the muted grey, navy, and wine options with this jacket vest. It’s such a versatile piece for wearing over lightweight sweaters and jeans, or long dresses.

Four – At only $20 I love this Fall maxi dress. Pair it with a longer vest and booties! Short sleeve option here.

Five – Plaid button downs are here for another season. These are definitely a go-to for me! Love plaid from here too!

Six – Blanket scarves are another cheap and great way to update your fall wardrobe. Target currently has many great options to choose from.

Seven – Simple gold jewelry is always on my want list. SofiaKaman has the most beautiful jewelry. It’s a bit of an investment. Both whimsical and boho, it’s completely timeless so you won’t ever regret the splurge.

Eight (no longer available)- A great pair of retro sunnies makes any outfit. Here is a fabulous Ray-Ban option and love this Madewell pair as well.

Nine – High fashion says farewell to skinnies, but not this girl. I still adore my skinnies, but am very excited about the updated shape and fit for women’s jeans. If you only invest in a few trends this season, make one of them a great pair of flared jeans.

Ten (out of my budget but gorgeous) – FRINGE is an obsession for many. If like me, you can’t get enough of this 70’s trend, then you will love this more affordable option.

Eleven – Super cute and perfect with longer knits and leggings.
